"Being the hands, feet and voice of Christ in downtown Toledo."
Jan 18 2016 Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration
7:00 PM

A UNIQUE CELEBRATION OF MARTIN LUTHER KING JR.’S BIRTHDAY, St. Paul’s UMC and Monroe St. UMC will gather together for a special dialogue to learn more about the Middle East, its culture, the global tension we now live in, and how the US policies affect ongoing issues internationally and domestically especially when it comes to terrorism within the world.  Dr. S. Zaheer Hasan, a member of the United Muslim Association of Toledo, and Rev. Larry Clark of Monroe St UMC will share with us their own experiences, and insight into our present situation.  We will have an opportunity to reflect upon our own understanding of the situation, dialoging with one another, and there will be time for further questions and answers too.  We will begin at 7:00 at St. Paul’s UMC, January 18, 2016. On the day when our nation celebrates the ministry and work of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., it only seems appropriate for us to gather together as we face new and ongoing civil and social justice issues for our brothers and sisters who are from the Middle East.
