The Expanded Food and Nutrition Education Program is an 8-week course of nutrition and health education based on items that can be found in food pantries or purchased with SNAP cards. The program is available to parents, grandparents, or guardians of minor children who meet income eligibility for the Ohio Supplimental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP).
The program runs every Wednesday for 8 weeks.
Each session includes oral and visual nutrition instruction, healthy movement activities, food tasting, recipe of the week, and a token to take home that applies to the lesson.
Attendants will also receive a bag of groceries from the food pantry every week that they attend the program. This means that you will get food weekly rather than monthly for 2 months (8 weeks).
Please call the office 419-243-8284 and let Wendy know of your intention to do this program so the program leader will know to have enough supplies.
